What did you see first; the viewer or the mirror?
Was it the eye or the reflection?
When I took the photo, I was looking for the reflection in the viewer’s eye. In post when filtering them to choose my favourite one, I found myself hesitating on the crop. I simply could not decide on it. One clearly drove the eye on the reflection while losing some of the atmosphere (the eye), and the other was the exact opposite. I found myself coming back to it over and over again. I wondered what it would look like to a fresh pair of eyes, a viewer who knows nothing of this photo. Funnily enough, it made me go for one where I thought both were vivid. I decided to leave this choice to the viewer, wondering what would influence them. Would it be the design of the photo (i.e the crop) or some kind of trick of the mind.
I am curious to know.
Would you say you saw the mirror first then the viewer? Or did you feel like the mirror rather that the viewer?
